Lighter Things...

About a month ago, I was getting back into really good shape. I was working out something like 5 days a week and was really in a groove. I was starting to look good and feel good. Then, something derailed me. I don't know exactly what it was. I have a feeling it was something like having a weird work schedule that made time for working out more difficult or my husband having a long weekend which always throws me off. Anyways, since then, I haven't been working out hardly at all. Maybe once a week. And I'm noticing. I'm getting soft. I was starting to see really good toning in my arms and abs and legs, and now they're flabby again. :/ Therefore, I'm really trying to get my motivation back. Swimming-suit season is quickly approaching and I would prefer not to feel like a whale in a mumu. I just need to get my groove back.

These are my go-to workouts. I'm not a big gym fan. I've always been self-conscious and I always think people are watching me and laughing when I workout. I just feel exposed. So I like to workout by myself. I'm not a runner although I've tried. I just can't do it (to my husband's frustration). But I've found these DVDs that I love. Jillian Michaels kicks my but. The "No More Trouble Zones" one is just an amazing full body workout. And I'm in love with her yoga DVD. It's a more intense type yoga so you work up a sweat, which I like. I want to know I'm working out and am going to get the benefits of what I'm doing. It's not an intense workout, but I'll do it on my off days if I want to workout. The Billy Blanks one is pretty good too. It really focuses on your core. And you definitely feel it the day after.
I was proud that I actually worked out today (second time this week!!). I was up for work at like 4am. Not cool. I tried to talk myself out of doing it, but just got off my ass and did it. And I'm glad I did. I always feel so much better. I really think the hardest part of working out is getting dressed. Finding the motivation to change into workout clothes. I mean, once I'm in them I'm ready to go. It's just getting there that I need work on. But hopefully I'll get back into my 5-a week pace and back into shape. :)
What do you enjoying doing for a workout?
